Reverend Alandus D. Sims is the founder of A. D. Sims Ministries in Orlando, Florida. Rev. Sims has been a minister of the gospel for 23 years. He commenced his preaching ministry at 18 years old. The authenticity and power of his ministry has been cultivated in the crucible of his powerful testimony, which offers a profound testament of God’s favor, purpose, plan, and providence being made manifest in our lives. God has anointed Rev. Sims to transform his private pain into a platform for his public ministry. Even as the son of prepared and well-educated parents, his experiences have made him keenly aware of how quickly one’s potential can be lost to violence, incarceration, drugs, and the insatiable need or perceived requirement for young black males to prove their value and self-worth, sometimes as defined by the worst aspects of America’s urban or “hip-hop” culture of today. He understands the pain and brokenness associated with grieving the loss of family, friends, finances, career, and opportunity. He also knows the joy that comes with being made whole by the power of God.
Sims is a man who has embraced personal preparation with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia and a Masters of Divinity from the Morehouse School of Religion at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Sims is presently preparing for his candidacy for a Doctorate of Ministry at the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
Reverend Sims is currently authoring a series of published theological articles and a book entitled “Redemption.” In addition, he has a host of blogs on his website that offer ruminations and insight regarding current events and life matters that we must all wrestle with from day to day.
A personable and humble man, Rev. Sims has given birth to a movement that seeks to meet people at the point of their pain. His mission is to usher in a movement of God that will allow us to experience the Holy Spirit beyond the established limitations of our religious constructs. His ministry has the audacity to address vital topics such as sex and the bible, cosmological worship, and the power, politics and social justice constructs of the biblical text. As a result of these teachings through his interpretive lens, individuals are empowered to free themselves of the restrictive spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical constraints that often keeps them from living fulfilling and purposeful lives in Christ. His message impacts lives and livelihoods. Sims is intentional in his efforts to minister to all generations and his ministry impacts persons from all socioeconomic classes. His life experiences, preparation, and message of HOPE have the power to reach students, educators, doctors, professional athletes, as well as those who have lived on the margins of life or have felt the weight of incarceration.
Reverend Sims is married to the lovely Crystal Davidson. They are blessed with a blended family that includes five daughters: Cameron, Alaysia, Alexis, Amari, and Ashtyn.
